Fire Weather Index — how to read it

The KFWI rates daily wildfire risk from the weather and a machine-learning ignition model. On the Karst, even low index values can carry real risk — which is exactly why a locally-calibrated index matters.

EFFIS/GWIS harmonised European scale. The FWI has no upper bound; values above 100 are exceptional.

Display axis 0–60+ tuned to Karst climatology; within the High class the colour steps to orange at FWI 28.
